Description: The moose is the largest member of the deer family. A calf is born reddish-brown with no spots. His ungainliness and floppy snout give him a somewhat comical appearance. I have watched young calves kneeling to browse the green vegetation because their necks appeared to be just a little too short to reach the ground comfortably.
