Description: This bison bull was standing close to the sunny south side of the Soda Butte Cone. He was soaking up as much heat as he could by standing broadside to the sun and using the bare travertine rock as a reflector and wind block. I timed my photograph to catch the plumes of breath from his nostrils as he exhaled in the below-zero cold. Every print and book are signed by Tom Murphy |
