Coyote Looking over Shoulder

Walking and hunting across the dry, brittle grasses during a cool autumn morning, this coyote was aware of all the other sounds around him in addition to the rustlings of potential mouse prey.  A raven set up a racket off in the distance behind him, and he briefly stopped, turned to look, and swiveled his ears to catch the sound better.
