Description:

A mature bald eagle perched in a dead pine tree.  Two ravens flew in and landed on the opposite side of the tree.  Ravens are typically curious, noisy and aggressive, and these were typical ravens.  The eagle tried to pretend they weren’t there. The ravens squawked and hopped around for a few minutes, then began grooming each other.  They tapped their beaks together, combed each other’s heads and necks, and seemed to tell each other curious or fond things.  Occasionally the eagle looked at them in a nose down, condescending posture, but like those who just don’t get it, the ravens ignored him, even though they had originally stopped by to see what he was doing.
