Bison Drinking in Snowstorm
$100.00 – $1,500.00
By late February the snow had accumulated to a depth of three to five feet, and this bison plowed through the snow in a storm to reach the small open pool of water. Animals will eat snow for moisture, but they prefer liquid. It takes a lot of energy to melt enough snow to satisfy a bison’s thirst. This image illustrates that even getting drink in the Yellowstone winter is a deliberate, hard chore.
