Bison Plowing Snow at Subzero
$100.00 – $1,500.00
It was around thirty-five degrees below zero this January morning near Norris. When it is that cold it rarely snows. Most of the haze in this photograph is from the large steam cloud around Norris Geyser Basin. These bison were slowly pushing the heavy snow around, enduring the extreme cold and ignoring the light snowfall, trying not to waste any energy. Bison patiently wait out winter storms, letting the wind and cold batter them, relying on the heavy cape of hair across their shoulders and heads to insulate them from deadly cold.
