Frosted Trees by Excelsior Geyser
$100.00 – $1,500.00
The crater of Excelsior Geyser contains tens of thousands of gallons of boiling water. This boiling water overflows down a colorful cascade into the Firehole River, helping to keep the Firehole from freezing even at forty degrees below zero. The steam from the water hides most of the surrounding landscape and coats the trees with very heavy accumulations of frost and ice. The dark blue background between the two frosted trees is the steam from the runoff channel.
