Description
By the middle of winter these trees standing near Black Pool accumulate a heavy cover of frost and ice from the steam rising out of the thermal. The trees are just above the west shore of the West Thumb of Yellowstone Lake. The smooth flat expanse of the lake extends 20 miles to the east to the Absaroka Mountains.
