Description
A full moon rises over the ridge east of Castle Geyser once every 29 1/2 days. Castle usually erupts about every 12-13 hours, and a strong pink sunset might happen only a couple of times a year. The soft, pink light cast its color over the Upper Geyser Basin from a large smooth cloud high in the sky acting like a giant reflector from the sun below the western horizon.
