Description
Late evening came on this September day with a warmth which brushed across the Lamar Valley in the light of the Autumn Equinox sun. The days were now shorter than the nights, but the heat from the long summer days was still present on the land. The broad welcoming expanse of the valley is embraced by Specimen Ridge to the right and the high snowy peaks of Saddle and Little Saddle Mountains in the distance to the left. The thick stands of grass and aspen, cottonwood, and evergreen trees had completed a vigorous healthy growing season and were now standing in the fullness of the year.
