Description
Pine trees and juniper trees grow near the hot springs at Mammoth. Quite often the hot springs shift course, flooding the roots of these trees and killing them. These two pine trees had been killed recently, evidenced by their red needles, but so far the small junipers had survived. The waning quarter moon stood out in the blue sky about an hour after sunrise.
