Description

The pronghorn antelope is the only animal with horns that are shed annually and that have two points each. The prongs that are the extra points extend toward the front from the center of the main stem. The only land animal that can run faster than the pronghorn is the African cheetah. Pronghorn are waryanimals and readily take flight on their delicate thin legs. Their eyesight is exceptional, and they can run for miles at speeds of up to 50 miles per hour. This small buck was carefully watching another buck off in the distance. Because he was smaller, he didn’t seem to want to challenge the other buck and after a short time went back to grazing. In a couple of years he may be more aggressive and might try to maintain a breeding harem of does.
