Description

Some mornings–if conditions are just right–tiny, needle-point ice crystals called diamond dust appear in the air. Diamond dust forms out of atmospheric humidity when it is very calm and very cold–usually below zero. The crystals are so small they float in the air and twinkle all around you. If they are backlit by the sun against a dark background they appear like a column of sparkling diamonds.
